sometimes they can miss something on the x-rays, and you MAY want to get a second opinion from another vet.....or they could be right in that he may have just pulled/strained a muscle (which if this has ever happened to you, you know it can take several weeks for the pain to fully go away). You obviously know he is in some sort of pain here....I would say if he is STILL this bad a week from now....go and get a second opinion at another vet (more x-rays and blood work preferably)
