How do I convince my Asian parents to let me take an english major?

It's kind of hard to convince people about this kind of thing because they think that more money = happiness. Try presenting an argument that explains how writing is the only thing that will make you happy and that is what matters. I know they are just trying to look out for you, but I'm sure they don't want to see you in your 40's with a job that you hate.
