Phonetic guide/ruby text blank in microsoft word 2007?

Hi all, I am working on phonetic guide (pinyin) for chinese characters in ms word 2007, but too bad the ruby text is blank when i try to insert pinyin to the words in my doc. what should i do? Please guide me!
