I need a reason to study abroad?

I am interested in a broad amount of things. For the most part, I am an inquisitive, creative writer who can generally be inspired by just about anything. This helps me in situations where brainstorming is a plus. I've looked into everything from ghostwriting to physics. But I also want to travel, and right now I can think of no excuse for needing to. I need a damn good reason to spend a few thousand dollars studying abroad, other than just desiring it. Could anybody give me one?
